Attendance management software for HR teams and modern workplaces.
Set your attendance rules once โ shifts, grace periods, working hours, overtime and per-office policies โ and let OnTym build the attendance records for you. Regularisation and approvals route to the right manager, and every month closes with a payroll-ready attendance register.

From check-in to payroll in one record
No parallel spreadsheet, no re-keying at month end. Attendance is captured once and read everywhere it matters.
- Step 1
Employee checks in
A tap in the mobile portal, validated against the geo-fence you set for that office.
- Step 2
Shift rules apply
Shift start, grace period, breaks and expected hours are applied automatically.
- Step 3
Timesheet builds itself
Hours, late marks, short hours and overtime are computed as the day closes.
- Step 4
Managers and payroll read it
One attendance record feeds approvals, reports and the monthly payroll run.
Everything an attendance system should do
Built for Indian teams that need accurate hours without policing their people.
Shifts, grace periods and overtime
Shift timings, grace periods, breaks, half-days and overtime handled by a single working-hours engine.
Regularisation and approvals
Missed or corrected punches route to the right reporting manager for a decision.
Attendance records and timesheets
Daily attendance records build into monthly timesheets with late marks, short hours and overtime.
Office-level attendance policies
Shift timings, holiday calendars and check-in rules configured per office, under one company account.
Live presence
See who is in, who is late and who is still out โ by team and by office, in real time.
Leave and holiday aware
Approved leave and office holidays are reflected in attendance instead of showing as absent.
Attendance reports and registers
Download an attendance or payroll register as CSV whenever finance or an auditor asks.
Geo-fenced check-in
Per-office location and radius, so a check-in only counts from where work actually happens.
Office, hybrid and field modes
Different rules for desk teams, remote days and staff who spend the day on the road.
Role-based access
Employees see their own record, managers see their team, admins see the company.
Why mobile check-in beats a punching machine
Biometric devices solve attendance for one door. Most teams no longer work behind one door.
Nothing to install
No punching machine per site, no wiring, no annual maintenance contract. Every employee already carries the device.
Works across locations
Adding a new branch or a remote team means adding an office and a radius โ not buying more hardware.
Location-backed evidence
Each check-in carries the time and the location it was made from, so attendance disputes have a record behind them.
The rules, records and reports on this page are the HR and admin side of attendance. The check-in itself happens on the employee side โ see the employee attendance app for the mobile check-in, GPS and field attendance experience your team uses every day.
Hours that turn straight into salary
OnTym is one platform, so attendance is not a separate tool you reconcile later. Approved leave, holidays and working hours are already there when payroll runs โ with payslips, reimbursements and registers on the same data.
- Monthly payroll runs that read attendance directly
- Approved leave and holidays already reflected
- Payslips generated from the same record
- Reimbursements and expense claims in one place
- CSV registers for finance and audit
One system, every kind of team
Office teams
Fixed shifts across one or many branches, with a check-in radius per location and a shared holiday calendar.
Hybrid teams
Remote days without the honour system โ employees check in from wherever they work, and hours still roll up correctly.
Field teams
Sales, service and delivery staff who start their day at a customer site rather than an office.
Attendance questions we get asked
Does OnTym need biometric or punching machines?
No. Employees check in from their phone inside a location radius you define for each office, so there is no hardware to buy, install or maintain. You can still export the same records your existing payroll process expects.
Can employees check in when they work from home or in the field?
Yes. Each employee can be set to office, hybrid or field mode. Office mode requires the check-in to happen inside the office geo-fence, hybrid allows remote check-ins, and field mode captures location with every check-in for teams that work on the move.
How are late marks and short hours handled?
You set the shift start time, grace period and expected working hours. OnTym applies those rules automatically when the timesheet is built, so late marks, short hours and overtime are calculated the same way for everyone.
Can we set different attendance rules for each office?
Yes. Office location, check-in radius, shift timings and holiday calendars are configured per office, so a multi-city or multi-branch company can run different rules under one company account.
Does attendance flow into payroll?
Yes. Attendance, leave and holidays feed the same records payroll reads, so a monthly payroll run uses attendance data directly instead of a re-keyed spreadsheet. You can also export a register as CSV for finance or audit.
How long does it take to set up?
Most teams are live within a few days. You add your offices and radius, import or invite employees, set shift and leave policies, and employees start checking in from the mobile portal.
